In a new development in the investigation of the Beirut Port explosion file, the judicial investigative judge, Tariq Al-Bitar, asked the House of Representatives to lift the immunity of three deputies for prosecution, namely Nohad Al-Machnouk, Ghazi Zuaiter and Ali Hassan Khalil.

Al-Bitar also requested permission to the Tripoli Bar Association to prosecute former Minister of Works Youssef Fenianos, and to the Beirut Bar Association to prosecute Representatives Zuaiter and Khalil, as they are lawyers.

Al-Bitar also requested permission to the caretaker Prime Minister, Hassan Diab, to sue the Director General of State Security, Major General Antoine Saliba, at a time when he asked the Caretaker Minister of Interior, Muhammad Fahmy, for permission to pursue the Director General of Public Security, Major General Abbas Ibrahim.

According to "An-Nahar" information from judicial sources, the judicial investigator is seeking permission from the Ministry of Defense to prosecute the former army commander, Jean Kahwagi, and a former director of intelligence.

The judicial investigator Al-Bitar directed a request to lift the immunity from the House of Representatives and the prosecution permissions from the two bar associations for Zuaiter, Khalil, Fenianos and Saliba, in the context of correcting the claim filed by the former judicial investigator.
