Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen, the victim of a heart attack during the match between his country and Finland, last Saturday, in the first round of the European Cup, confirmed that he is "fine despite the circumstances", in a message posted on his account on "Instagram".
Under a picture of him smiling on his hospital bed, Eriksen wrote: "I still have to do some tests in hospital, but I feel fine."
The 29-year-old player, who thanked his fans for all their messages, added: "Now I will support the Danish players in the upcoming matches. Play for the whole of Denmark."
Eriksen, crowned with Inter in the Italian League, suddenly fell to the ground, when he was receiving the ball from a close throw-in three minutes before the end of the first half.
Denmark's national team doctor, Morten Boesen, said Sunday that he "has no explanation for what happened", explaining: "His heart stopped and we massaged him to revive him. It was a cardiac arrest."
