Feds pay $6.1mn to private tech contractor to build MASSIVE database of evidence against Capitol rioters
The US Justice Department has agreed to pay Deloitte $6.1mn to compile a huge database of images, videos, social media posts and documents that will assist prosecutors and defence attorneys in civil cases for over 500 Capitol rioters.
Thousands of hours of footage, over a MILLION social media posts and over 6,000 responses to grand jury subpoenas must be prepared - and the trove is only growing as new arrests are made.
The Deloitte delivery order could grow to $26mn depending on similar future services, as just one part of a 5-year $1.5bn mega contract for multiple contractors.
