🇺🇸 New aircraft in the US Air Force

The US Air Force has received a new type of aircraft in its fleet. Today the first Beechcraft AT-6E Wolverine was officially transferred to the Air Force and entered service. "Wolverine" (English - Wolverine) won the US Air Force program to select a new light attack aircraft (OA-X).

The AT-6 Wolverine is a light attack and reconnaissance aircraft designed and manufactured by Beechcraft, a member of Textron Aviation. The aircraft was created under the LAS (Light Air Support) program on the basis of the T-6 Texan II training aircraft.

According to the US Air Force, the new aircraft will make it possible to efficiently and at minimal cost use aviation in conflicts with "low intensity". If an F-35 flight hour is estimated at $ 42,000, then for light attack aircraft this amount will be less than $ 3,000.
