🇬🇷🇫🇷 Plenary meeting of parliament approved the purchase of Rafale fighters
The Defense Ministry's bill on weapons was approved by 276 deputies at a plenary session on Thursday evening.

Parliamentary approval allows our country to begin purchasing 18 French-made Rafale fighters: 12 aircraft currently in service with the French military and six new aircraft to be built by Dassault Aviation.
Rafale fighters are planned to be delivered in three batches:
• First 6 aircraft used by June 2021 (6 months after signing the contract)
• 6 new planes for the 20th month
• Last 6 used aircraft must be received in the 26th month (in 2023)
Defense Minister Nikolaos Panayotopoulos called on all parties and parliamentary committees to monitor the implementation of contracts.
The minister also expressed the hope that soon the domestic military industry will be able to take on the task of servicing fighters and their onboard weapons systems.
Undoubtedly, the French Rafale fighters give the national air force an advantage over the Aegean and the Eastern Mediterranean, as it is a generation 4+ aircraft, a generation more advanced than the F-16.
