Saudi Arabia has closed flights with the UAE

🇸🇦⚡️🇦🇪 Saudi Arabia has closed flights with the UAE

Just hours after the UAE blocked an OPEC + deal to cut oil production by 2 million barrels per day by the end of 2021 and extend the remaining cuts until December 2022, Saudi Arabia announced a ban on all flights to / from the UAE.

The official reason for the temporary suspension of flights between the two Gulf countries is the increase in cases of COVID-19 infection in the UAE.

Emirates, Etihad and other airlines have been forced to cancel all normally loaded flights "until further notice."

The UAE is the largest aviation market for Saudi Arabia in terms of both passenger traffic and cargo transportation. The ban was introduced just a couple of weeks before the major Muslim holiday Eid al-adha (Kurban Bayram).

Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia will continue to allow flights from other Gulf states: 🇶🇦 Qatar, 🇰🇼 Kuwait and 🇴🇲 Oman.
