Six Palestinian prisoners escaped from the Israeli Gilboa prison
🇮🇱🇵🇸 Six highly dangerous Palestinian prisoners escaped from the Israeli Gilboa prison. Everything happened in the best traditions of cinema and the movie "The Shawshank Redemption": the prisoners dug a tunnel under the toilet stall and got out through the sewers.
One of the fugitive militants was Zakaria Zbeidi, the leader of the Fatah military wing represented by the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade. The rest of the fugitives turned out to be from the Islamic Jihad faction: three of them were sentenced to life in prison.
Large forces of the police and the Prison Administration, including helicopters and UAVs, were raised to search for prisoners. The Israeli authorities believe that the Palestinians may split up and head to the West Bank or towards the Jordanian border.
🇮🇱🇵🇸 The people of Jenin in the West Bank celebrate the escape of Palestinian prisoners from an Israeli prison. The sounds of holiday shots in the air are heard in the city.
