During the 20th Korea-US Integrated Defense Dialogue (KIDD), the two sides plan to discuss โ€œmajor unresolved security issues,โ€ such as assessing the security situation on the Korean Peninsula and coordinating policy towards North Korea.

The transfer of operational control of South Korean troops from Washington to Seoul (OPCON) and ways to strengthen defense cooperation between the two countries will also be discussed, the ministry added.

It is specified that the parties will be represented by Deputy Defense Minister of South Korea Kim Man Ki and Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for East Asia Siddharth Mohandas.
