The new corvette of the Taiwanese Navy will be equipped with ship-based anti-aircraft missiles

On July 27, 2021, at the shipyard of the Taiwanese private shipbuilding company Lung Teh Shipbuilding in Ilan, a ceremony was held for the entry into the Navy of the Republic of China (Taiwan) of the head corvette-catamaran "Tajiang" of the improved design Tuo Jiang II. The ship was launched on December 15, 2021. On December 4, 2018, Taiwanese media confirmed that Lung Teh Shipbuilding had won a tender to build 11 improved Tuo Jiang II corvettes and 4 Min Jiang minelayers. The first three corvettes-catamarans should be introduced into the Navy of the Republic of China (Taiwan) by 2022. It is planned to install modernized anti-ship missiles Hsiung Feng III on the ship with a displacement of 685 tons, which have a cruising speed of about 3M and a firing range of up to 150-180 km.
